Projects
The "TangoCMS Project" consists of multiple sub-projects that when put together, form the powerful content management system that is "TangoCMS" which people use everyday to manage their simple, or complex websites.
Current Projects
- Zula Framework (GNU/LGPL 2.1). A custom PHP5 MVC framework.
- Tangobox (GNU/GPL 2). A jQuery plugin which provides a "lightbox" type feature.
- TangoCMS (GNU/GPL 2). Modules and Themes for the Zula Framework that work together to form a content management system.
Every project we create will always be released as open source software, free of charge, allowing anyone to share and contribute their ideas.
3rd Party Projects
While we have many of our own projects, the TangoCMS Project wouldn't be possible without the help from some excellent 3rd party projects. We currently use the following open source projects:
- FlowPlayer, powerful flash media/video player.
- jQuery, fast and powerful JavaScript library, with the following plugins
- TinyMCE, the WYSIWYG editor.
- SwiftMailer, a very flexible and feature rich PHP email library.
What's the difference between "TangoCMS" and "TangoCMS Project"?
There can be some confusion between these two names, since TangoCMS can also be used to referrer to the TangoCMS Project.
When the name TangoCMS Project is used, it is in reference to all of the sub projects that make the final product our end-users download. Whereas TangoCMS technically referrers to the custom content for the Zula Framework, such as modules and theme, however it can also be used the same as TangoCMS Project.
Currently (and will be for a long time) we market the product that users download as TangoCMS, instead of TangoCMS Project. This is intentional and does not mean just the single sub project.
