The latest update to the stable 2.5.x "Kiwi" series has been released and available for download. This release fixes just 1 bug within the "editor" module which rendered it impossible to edit a page due to the recent jQuery 1.4.3 release (TangoCMS currently always uses the latest in the 1.4.x series). It is advised to upgrade to ensure your users or yourself do not have problems with the editor.

I've edited files I probably shouldn't have edited in my installation, which means updating is a long, drawn-out process.

:) If you clone our Git repository, you could simply make your changes and commit them, then for every new TangoCMS release simply pull in our changes from our Git repo again.
It makes custom changes like this far easier to manage!
