2.2.0 "Eagle" Released!

The 4th major release of TangoCMS, 2.2.0 "Eagle", has been released and available for download! Eagle brings many important updates, such as CSRF protection, bug fixes and interface tweaks. Therefore all users are urged to upgrade their installations to get the security fixes.

Security Issues Fixed

During the development of 2.2.0, many CSRF security issues were made known to us which needed priority fixing. These issues also meant we had to change our plans for 2.2.0 and release early, meaning many of the planned features have been pushed to 2.3.0 "Dolphin".

Any TangoCMS installation running a version lower than 2.2.0 are effected. If you are unable to upgrade for any reason, please either contact the community for help, or make sure you log out of TangoCMS when you don't need to be logged in.

Improvements in 2.2.0

A small handful of features and various bug fixes have made its way into this release, including more MediaWiki formatting fixes. Pages that have sub-pages will now display their own body text above the generated "Table of Contents", allowing you to customize pages further. The last remaining title/name limits have now been lifted (instead of random limits such has 64 and 32, they are all at 255 characters max), giving you room to creating any page/article title you need.

The Road Ahead

The next major release of TangoCMS will be 2.3.0 "Dolphin", and as seen on our Roadmap, will focus on usability and implement a simple, yet very requested feature of a WYSIWYG editor. One of the major features planned for 2.3.0 is customizable content layout for any and every URL, instead of all pages having the same attached modules.

There is currently no set release date for 2.3.0, however June/July 2009 seems reasonable.
